Another Lockdown In Ghana Will Delay Our Economic Recovery - Kusi Boafo Warns

The Chief Executive Officer of Public Sector Reforms, Thomas Kusi Boafo has advised Ghanaians to obey the health protocols regarding COVID-19.

Mr. Kusi Boafo, speaking on ''Kokrokoo'' on Peace FM, was worried that some Ghanaians don't see the current urgent situation of Ghana and the need to rigorously follow the safety protocols.

Ghana's COVID-19 situation isn't getting any better as the country's cases keep rising.

The country currently records 8,216 active cases with daily cases standing at 718 and 533 deaths, according to data provided by the Ghana Health Service.

Due to the increasing cases, President Nana Akufo-Addo has warned of a possible lockdown should the citizenry fail to comply with the protocols.

According to Mr. Kusi Boafo, another lockdwon will have dire consequences on Ghana's economic growth.

He therefore advised Ghanaians not to push the President to take such a decision.

"If care is not taken and we have another lockdown, it will delay our economic recovery and it will be a disaster. It will make our job creation ability and momentum and the measures that the government wants to take, the government will be over-concentrating on the COVID which will render other areas dysfunctional," he told sit-in host Nana Yaw Kesseh.

He urged the citizenry to take the protocols seriously and stop their recalcitrant behavior.
