Celebrate Easter With Caution; Coronavirus Is Still A Danger - Prof. Joseph Osafo Warns

Senior Psychologist, Professor Joseph Osafo has cautioned Easter celebrants not to disregard the COVID-19 protocols during the festivity.

Sunday, April 4 is Easter Day.

In the Easter period, Kwahu is one of the busiest places to have fun.

But this year's Easter celebration will not see the usual celebrations where a crowd of revellers throng Kwahu and other places like the pubs and nighclubs.

Due to the impact of the global Coronavirus pandemic, large gatherings, parties, congregations and other celebrations have been restricted.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has prohibited people from engaging in large gatherings, going to the pubs, nightclubs, beaches and organizing parties in the country.

This notwithstanding, there is news that some Ghanaians are planning to celebrate the Easter wihout regard to the restrictions.

Speaking on Peace FM's morning show ''Kokrokoo'', Prof. Joseph Osafo has advised those Ghanaians to review their decision.

He urged the citizenry to be cautious bearing in mind the mortality rate of the disease.

He asked them not to engage in public gatherings since it could lead to a spike in the Coronavirus cases in Ghana.

"Celebrate in a manner that will not lead to destruction . . . there must be serious caution," he said, stressing "there is a danger lurking somewhere waiting to devour, so be careful not to celebrate Easter and contract disease resulting in death".
