Bishop Salifu Amoako Bemoans Level Of Unbearable Hardship Under Prez Akufo-Addo

The Leader and Founder of Alive Chapel International, Bishop Dr Elisha Salifu Amoako has bemoaned the level of hardship under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo since he took over from former President John Dramani Mahama.

According to him, Ghanaians who voted for President Akufo-Addo due to their high expectation to put an end to their sufferings see nothing to be working under his administration.

Speaking to the media on Easter Sunday at his office, Dr Salifu Amoako posited that the problem of Africa is leadership; thus, Ghana lacks visionary leaders as the country can only boast of good leaders but not great leaders.

“We have a lot of people who are good but they are not great; God does not make leaders good but great, and so what Ghana and Africa as a whole needs are great leaders and that is the reason why Africa has all the natural resources and still the poorest among the poor,” he bemoaned.

“Ghana and Africa as a whole have natural resources more than any continent. Our leaders are not accountable to anybody as we don’t know what they use the proceeds from the gold for,” he stressed.

He was of the view that the discovery of oil in commercial quantity was the means to the end of the country’s hardship as the world celebrated with the nation with the expectation that the lives of its citizens will change for the best, but the people are rather impoverished as a result of wrong leadership after President John Agyekum Kufour.

“We have experienced a lot of leaders in this country, yet still we are rather going through a lot of hardships. We form long queues to vote for leaders but hunger is killing our people. So, I want to call on the President that Ghanaians are expecting a lot from him because I don’t understand why a country with such natural resources and 90 per cent of our population are very poor,” he said.

To him, it is an error and heart-broken to people living on the street hawking for survival and living in containers while the country has had a lot of Presidents who are enjoying lives at the expense of the masses.

“I believe that we voted for the NPP government and President Akufo-Addo because they promised us a lot, but up till today, the average Ghanaian is still suffering; no jobs, no capacity to build the nation and nothing is going on for the average Ghanaian,” he stated.

Bishop Dr Salifu Amoako, however, pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to fix the economy in order to make it easy for Ghanaians to be able to access loans for their businesses.

He said the foreigners easily access loans and register their companies in the country and after that, they transfer the profits back to their countries, but the average citizen will have to suffer to get some of these things which does not make them succeed in their businesses.

He emphasized the fact that the leaders of this country do not have any plan for the future of the children who are on the streets; explaining why 3-year-old children are always seen on the streets begging for alms to support themselves and their families.

“We rather join long queues to vote for the President and his Vice and they will be enjoying the prestige, but the average person who voted for them to get the presidency is hungry and poor,” he lamented.
