I Own 5 Clubs And Pay Salaries Of 168 Players Every Month – GFA President 'Brags' To Stakeholders

Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has boldly revealed that he owns five football clubs but failed to reveal the identity of those clubs.

The former Dreams FC President has also claimed he pays the salaries of 168 players at every end.

Okraku, who has been in office since October 2019, has embarked on a tour in the Northern sector to engage with club administrators and other football stakeholders on issues relating to violence and hooliganism in the Division One League Zone I.

Reacting to issues pertaining to the home ban of Techiman City FC, Okraku revealed his appreciation of the financial demands of running football clubs in the country.

“Running football in this country gives you a lot of uncertainties especially you are not even sure when there is going to be any returns on your investment. I’m sure you are not even aware. Let me tell you, I own 5 clubs and I pay the salaries of 168 players at the end of every month,” he said during a response to a question.

Techiman City FC have been banned from honouring their home games at the Nana Ohene Ameyaw Park due to fan violence and hooliganism. The club has been billed to play their home games at the Wa Park and the decision has left supporters of the club livid.
