The Fortitude, Forbearance, Foresight, And Steadfastness Of Hon. Boakye Agyarko

Hon Boakye Agyarko is a very rare character in the NPP.

Gracefully built with a perfect gait, Hon Boakye Agyarko has a personal welcome and indiscriminate open door policy that makes him so affable to all and sundry who have had, as well as those who wish to have an occasion to relate with him, either in private discussion or official.

Sitting and chatting with him, Hon Boakye Agyarko, like Socrates, the venerated ancient Greek philosopher, is both a perfect patient listener to every conversation he's engaged in, and a lovely contributor par excellence as well, which he does very intelligently. Hon Agyarko responses to discussions ad-lib, and with well reasoned out expressions that are very sensible and full of wisdom, as if he has had a prior notification of what is going to be discussed, occasioning an opportunity for him to do a thorough research, but no, it's all because he's all round very much adept, particularly in political and Party politics policy issues. Indeed, he's marvelously on top of politics and its related problems and solutions. He would be proposing where there are available means, and also from where such means and help can be sought if not readily available. He is indeed a politician who has the gift and capacity of thinking on his feet.

Hon Boakye Agyarko is so much a magnanimous personality who has a very temperate composure. He's cool-headed, and self-composed, even under extreme provocation. His patience and self-composure have been clearly exhibited to Ghanaians and the world at large when he was made an innocent sacrificial lamb and sacked by his hirer, just to cover up the much discussed ignominious Ameri deal stinking rot. Many friends, personal admirers, and sympathisers of his plight as an innocent object of sacrifice advised him to "spill out the beans" and expose the nocent, and mischievous miscreant culprits in the deal, but he refused heeding to the emotional and vindictive advice of his admirers, with the reason that, aiming at exposing the fiends of mischief in the deal would amount to an act of vengeance, and the "pellets" so shot would hit not only the aimed intended particular target, but would have effect on the Party he has adored from childhood. Therefore, he innately would avoid taking such a regrettable step and at such a wrong time; and also, it would be unpatriotic and disloyal to the President and the NPP at that time if he did so. However, he expressed that at the right and appropriate time, when the effect of the stench of the noisome deal would have been abated through lapse of time, he would publicly prove his total and indisputable innocence.

In spite of all the atimy planned on him by whoever, and directed to tarnish his public image and hard-won reputation, in absolute silence, the honourable former Energy Minister endured his unprovoked and unjustified firing. He never alienated himself from the Party and its related activities. Ever since his removal from his ministerial position, Hon Agyarko has never absented himself from Oman TV Boiling Point programmes, telecast on Tuesdays and Thursdays, voluntarily defending the NPP against what the Ghanaian public see, hear, and criticise.

Anybody at-all would, if encountered with such an unjustified discriminatory treatment, with a broken heart, withdraw with anger and malice--inclined heart, retire and live in the comfort of his/her home. Hon. Boakye Agyarko is never such a character. He would even make little or no comment about what happened to him, and only recently broke his silence at the appropriate time when it was conducive to do so.

In fact, such a patriot and Party devoted character is rare, not only in the NPP, but in cultures and societies and communities worldwide. Very few people would go even a thousandth this length of agonising ignominy-intended treatment by absorbing anguish to such a magnitude of unmeritable disgrace and obloquy without making an unhesitated public exposé, followed with a definite resignation from the Party. This is indeed temperance and forbearance unprecedented of Hon Agyarko.

The honourable former Energy Minister was born to parents who would never compromise their loyalty to the United Party tradition, not even for the most precious jewel.
As a youth, he has associated with the greats of the tradition, and rubbed shoulders with his seniors and contemporaries in the tradition such as Hon Kwadwo Mpiani, his senior, Alan Kyeremateng and a host of uncountable others in the present day NPP.
Hon Boakye Agyarko has a lucid and longsight political foresight to the furthest horizon, not only for the NPP as a political Party to which he belongs, but for Ghana's socio-economic development, and particularly for the youth of Ghana.
It is wished that his clarity of foresight in management and development of Ghana would be realised now, and during our lifetime in this shortest possible time and moment of need.
It's always very interesting listening to the expressions of wisdom by sitting and consulting with not only such an open-minded patriot of our time, but indeed such an extraordinary Divine-gifted political craftsman for a developing country in need like Ghana, and at a time when our leadership plight is in a quandary.
