Iker Casillas Agrees Divorce With Wife Sara Carbonero After Five Years Of Marriage

Real Madrid's legendary former goalkeeper Iker Casillas has finalised his divorce from the reporter he kissed live on television after winning the World Cup in 2010.

The Spaniard began dating the television presenter and journalist Sara Carbonero in 2009, with their relationship now over and the divorce agreed, according to reports in SPORT newspaper this week.

Casillas is said to have given away custody of their two children - Martin, seven, and Lucas, four - to Carbonero, with the ex-goalkeeper moving out of the family home and continuing to pay for their education.

Although the pair have split after five years of marriage, reports claim 'love and family have prevailed' in the separation, with relationships remaining friendly and Casillas able to visit the children 'flexibly'.

The 39-year-old, who most recently played for Porto before retiring in 2020, has now moved to another house in the Moncloa-Aravaca district of Madrid, while his family remain in La Finca.

SPORT write that Casillas and Carbonero visited the Pozuelo de Alarcon court on April 6 to finalise their divorce and confirm the agreement going forward.
