Dear NPP National Chairman, Call Alan Kyerematen To Order

Hello National Chairman,

I bring to your esteemed office, fraternal greetings from Edubiase. Sir this letter would be short and straightforward and requires your urgent attention.

Unbelievably, the coducts of supporters of Mr Alan Kyerematen in their bid to get Alan to lead the New Patriotic Party, it appears strongly premised on a decoy of hurling and writing unrestrained hate-induced articles against the person of the President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia.

Instructively, the Vice President is yet to make public any statement suggesting his intention to lead the NPP. Verily, unlike Dr Mahamadu Bawumia who will attend programs in his capacity as the Vice President of Ghana, in what capacity is Alan Kyeremanten finding himself perambulating ordinary religious programs? Are ministers tasked to be doing social works? It was the sensational gospel musician Diana Asamoah who first rejected and denied the news regarding her endorsement for Alan. She said, the event was a mere coincident between her and Alan which was misrepresented falsely for mischievous purposes.

Sensibly, as Alan is a Trade Minister, shouldn't he be seen dealing with Trade related aspects like he is done in the last four years? Isn't it curious and strange to see Alan visiting and mixing with Churches and mosques, barely at the dawn of a new beginning of this government? The question begs, why wasn't Alan seen with the National Chief Imam, churches, mosques in the last six (6) years but now? Is this year the only time Ramadan is been observed in the last six years? The last time Alan Kyerematen was seen publicly with the National Chief Imam and other churces was around August 2014 where he was contesting as the flagbearer of the NPP against Nana Akufo-Addo. Thus far, the only reason that can be deduced from this sudden and recent movements of Alan Kyeremanten among faith groups is that, it is a form of campaign and creating awareness in the minds of people that he wants to take over from President Nana Akufo-Addo.

But, is this the best time a Trade Minister appointed barely three months ago by a sitting President, to be seen campaigning to become President of that same country? This behaviour, a former Chief of Staff, Mr Kwadwo Mpiani at pains, described as, individuals cannot "serve two masters". How can Alan focus on the vision of President Akufo-Addo when Alan is campaigning to become President of Ghana? Does Alan reckon that, as Trade Minister, he is holding a position of trust? One that comes with a mandate and a duty to discharge? Could this be the reason why Alan has suddenly drifted from identifying himself with the Akufo-Addo flagship, 1District 1factory to force-embraced himself with AFCTA?

Sir, you may have been a bit distanced from the NPP prior to 2007 congress, however, I'll benefit you with a doubt. Right after the difficult 2004 elections, typical of the over ambitious "international man" as he touts himself, Alan Kyerematen started with meeting of NPP delegates in a quite similar fashion to what he is doing today, with the sole aim of succeeding President Kufour. This similar atmosphere perhaps would cause the longest servant of President Akufo-Addo now late, Victor Newman to write an open letter expressing his impatience with the seeming relaxation of then foreign Minister Nana Akufo-Addo.

Admittedly, Alan was a "darling" boy to then Kufour government, whereas now President Akufo-Addo was not. Unperturbed by the amazing rush of Alan Kyerematen, in responding to Victor Newman, Nana Akufo-Addo assured Victor Newman and all those who believed in his vision to focus and direct their energies towards assisting then Kufour government to deliver on its mandate. Akufo-Addo then, thought wisely that, a successful successor of Kufour could only be guaranteed on a better and successful government of then Kufour administration. Why then, Alan entertain such a very good thought? Is this too huge to ask from Alan?

Disappointing as it seems, supporters of Mr Alan Kyerematen are conducting themselves as if the only expedient means of getting Alan lead the NPP is to attack President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia. They, have developed many pseudo names, issuing incoherent writings and letters attacking the integrity of the President Akufo-Addo and vice President. Sir, frankly the NPP as our abiding principle have a firm believe and are protecters of individual rights and free speech. It is welcoming if these supporters of Mr Alan would write and tell the world about the competences of Alan and why they think can lead the NPP. But, it is worrying and foreboding to have Alan supporters writing tirades and unfavorable comments against President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Bawumia.

Mr Chairman, these supporters of Alan via E.G. BUCKMAN, launched the first salvo attacking the tribe and religion of Vice President Dr Bawumia barely a week after the Jean Mensa declaration of NPP as winner of the 2020 elections. Buckman titled his article, "why would the NPP want to commit political suicide.

" This article came at a time where the opposition NDC have rejected the elections results with chaotic and bloody sequence of protests across the country. It was a very difficult time for the NPP but these doubtful believers in the NPP tradition sought to nail the NPP in those dire times. Were we to be surprised? A simple search on the internet can reveal the true identity of these supporters of Alan such as E.G. BUCKMAN as champions of internal party (intra-contest) divisions but opponents of external (NPP Vrs NDC, others) elections. Indeed, the internet only credits E.G. BUCKMAN and his group of writers for Alan with statements threatening the survival of the NPP. Strangely missing is a single statement from them against opponents of the NPP.

AFTER ALL Mr Boakye Agyarko, in expressing his views regarding loyalty of Alan to NPP said in part "With respect to not being invited to join the campaign, the truth of the matter is, Mr. Kyerematen left town for an international job after losing the primaries. As he proudly boasts, he is an international man! In February of 2011, Mr. Kyerematen, Nana Addo and I had a brief discussion in Nana's office about his role in the campaign. Later that morning, I had another meeting with Mr. Kyerematen to discuss his role. He intimated he wanted the discussion to continue after his return from Addis Ababa and he promised to stay in touch. In the whole time he was away, he never called ONCE to even check on the progress of the campaign." Agyarko further justified his position on Alan Kyeremanten by recounting the conducts of Alan viz a viz the NPP Supreme Court petition in the words "With regards to the Supreme Court hearings, I am extremely surprised that he keeps going on about not being given accreditation. For someone who was called and convinced by Mr. Asare Bediako, NPP Chairman, Asokwa Constituency, to show up at least once at the Supreme Court since people were beginning to notice his loud silence and detachment from the petition, it is ironic that he has made this an issue on his campaign."

Chairman, it is entirely within the privileges of Alan to put his hat into ring like he is done since 2007, and nobody has ever and will ever have an issue with that.

However, as his loyalty to the NPP and all its principles stands in the opposite, you're duty bound to stand and defend the NPP and save the NPP from the hands of these avowed agents linked to Alan who are champions of disunity and division.

Chairman, it is in the NPP'S interest that, you keep it united, peaceful as you found it. Please, nip in the bud, those alien characters who are actively vicious in their attacks on the President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr Bawumia and NPP.

Faithfully yours,
Maame Yaa Yeboah.
