The Savannah Regional Secretary of the NPP, Mr Haruna Iddrisu has described a petition against his desire to be the MCE for the East Gonja Municipality as empty, shallow and without merit in any form or shape and has asked that it be treated with contempt and disdain.

The petitioner had alleged that Mr Haruna Iddrisu spent Ghc50,000 meant for the NPP Pcs for the Salaga North constituency and the the Daboya/Mankarigu constituency just before the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

But reacting to the petition which found its way in the media, Mr Haruna Iddrisu stated emphatically that whatever monies were meant for the two Pcs got to them in full and at the time of the receipt of the money they spoke with lawyer Abu Jinapo MP for the Damongo constituency (The Donor) to acknowledged receipt of exact amount.

According to the Regional Secretary, the allegation that he spent the money is strange especially when the recipients of the money are still alive and kicking and can confirm receipt or otherwise.

Mr Haruna Iddrisu is of the firm opinion that the petitioner did a poor job as he could have crosschecked his wild allegations from Hon Abdallah Iddi and Alhaji Aseyeh of the Daboyah Mankarigu constituency who were recipients of support.

He has therefore called on his family, friends and fans to ignore what he said was a desperate and despicable attempt to look for fault at the wrong place.

Mr Haruna Iddrisu added that honest was at the centre of his upbringing and was in politics to serve and not "chop"funds not meant for him.

He added that he personally sought for that support for the two constituencies because he believed that the NPP could win those Parliamentary seats as the Regional Secretary and the party indeed won and should rather be praised for his efforts and not what he said was a deliberate trip to dent his hard earned reputation.
