A volunteer group of the ruling New Patriotic Party, P4C has organized a blood donation exercise at the Ridge Hospital to help increase the blood stock of the Hospital's blood bank.

The exercise which saw a number of members of the group donating several pints of blood is intended help increase the National voluntary donations which are done by low risk donors to help the National blood service achieve their voluntary donation targets.

Speaking to the media after the exercise, the Coordinator of the group, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah appealed to groups, Churches and Schools to step up their donations to help close the shortfall from last year which was caused by the Covid Pandemic restrictions. He gave assurance the group will institutionalize the donation and do it at least twice every year.

On behalf of the Management of Ridge Hospital, The Principal Medical Laboratory Scientist at Ridge Hospital, Tahiru Ukasha, thanked the group for putting the program together and appealed to the citizenry to support the Hospital with regular voluntary donations to help save lives.
