COP Dampare Will Live Up To The Task - Charles Bissue On New IGP

NPP Western Regional Secretary and former Presidential staffer, Charles Bissue is very optimistic that COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare will excel in his new position as the Inspector General of Police.

According to him, the security capo over the years has been exceptional – hence, his elevation to head the Police Service is commendable.

“I have followed him over the years and he has been tipped to one day head the service. I think the way people always mention his name, he will live up to the task and will collaborate to do the work. There is no bad mouth about him,” he said in an interview with Starr FM’s ‘StarrChat’ with Nana Aba Anamoah.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on July 21, 2021, appointed the Director-General in charge of Administration of the Ghana Police Service, COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP).

He takes over from James Oppong-Boanuh who has been IGP since August 14, 2019.

COP Akuffo Dampare will officially take over as head of the Police Service on August 1, 2021.
