God Will Punish You, Bature!

Former Ashanti Regional Minister in the erstwhile Rawlings-led NDC regime, Mr Samuel Nuamah Donkor has discounted claims by the Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Iddrisu Bature that he (Nuamah) was once an ally of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and even lobbied to be retained as the regional minister when the NDC was kicked out of office in 2000. A clearly riled Nuamah Donkor was emphatic that he has never at any point in time swayed opinion in his way to be reconsidered for the position of the Ashanti regional minister. The Al-Hajj newspaper Editor had earlier alleged on that the former regional minister had befriended members of the NPP (which was then in power) ostensibly for an official appointment, and was even reluctant to leave office when every NDC minister had been asked to hand over upon President Kufuor assuming office in 2001. But a hot exchange ensued on the airwaves, Mr. Nuamah Donkor angrily to corrected the erroneous and fallacious statements being made by the seasoned journalist. I am not a political prostitute to be shuttling between political parties, the former Ashanti Regional Minister pointed out. According to him, he has always been a member of the NDC but had to stay put in his constituency to take care of some issues that cropped up during the 2000 electioneering campaign. He also rubbished reports that he tried lobbying for a position in the current Mills-Mahama administration after joining ranks with the MP for Lower Manya Krobo, Hon. Michael Teye Nyaunu to malign President Mills. An angry Nuamah Donkor then took a swipe at Alhaji Batures persona describing him as a liar who is simply bent on destroying peoples hard earned reputation. I challenge Bature to name whoever I went to lobby for the position fromGod will punish you Alhaji Batureif what youre saying about me is untrue, he screamed. Not to be undone, Alhaji Bature also replied Mr Nuamah Donkor in equal measure to the curses rained on him saying God will also punish you if what Im saying is trueyour disloyalty is one of the reasons why you have lost favor in the NDC.
