Akuapim North: Rev Owusu Bempah Ends Water Crisis In Aboabo With A Mechanized Borehole

Founder and Leader of Glorious Word and Power Ministry, Rev. Dr Isaac Owusu Bempah has provided a mechanized borehole to put an end to many decades of water crises in Aboabo, Akuapim North, a suburb of the Eastern Region.

Revealing the reason for his philanthropic works, Rev. Owusu Bempah said that a news item on UTV highlighting the situation in the community caught his attention; thus, after seeing the story he made moves and the result of his action is the mechanized borehole which henceforth will serve the community.

Commissioning the mechanized borehole for the people of Aboabo near Adawso in the Akuapim North Municipality, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah noted that even though President Akufo-Addo has done a lot for the betterment of the country since he ascended the throne of the Presidency, it beholds on individuals who can help with their widow’s might to help the nation-building.

“This is because it is not only the President who should build or develop the country; individuals can also help in building the nation together. So, we heard of the Aboabo water crisis and we have come to fix it for the people. We have been helping communities every year and I know that if God gives us lives, we will do whatever we can to help the country”, he disclosed.

The two communities, Aboabo 1 and 2 for over 200 years ago have never had a safe and portable source of drinking; thus, commuters had to make use of water from a stream. Members dug a big hole at the end of a stream that collects water for community use.

According to the Chief of the area, the traditional and political leaders in the communities have for decades made appeals to the Akuapim North Municipal Assembly and various Members of Parliament for the area but none has been able to address their biggest concern.

Expressing his gratitude for the mechanized borehole, the Chief said it is a delight to see that a good Christian has come to solve their major problem in the community as their children and wives have to cover many miles on the roadside to fetch water from the stream.

The same sentiments were expressed by the assemblyman for the Adawso Borebea electoral area, Benjamin Bampoe who appealed for more support in the areas of electrification and roads.
