NSA Boss Visits Baba Yara Sports Stadium As Capacity Building Begins For Local Personnel

NSA Boss, Prof. Peter Twumasi on Monday, September 06, 2021, led a technical team from the Head office of National Sports Authority (NSA) to the renovated Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi to work with the Contactor in charge to build the capacity of local personnel for import duties.

The capacity building exercise comes following the installation of units such as the scoreboard, floodlights, PA system, etc, which requires the training of local staff for the operation of these installed units.

This program forms part of the smooth transfer of the nearly completed renovated facility to the NSA.

Present during the exercise were the Acting Ashanti Regional Director of NSA, Mr. Emmanuel Kojo Appiah, staff of the NSA in Kumasi and staff of the contractor.

It must be noted that the renovation is at an advanced stage since major works such as grassing of the pitch is done.

Moreover, the seats have been fixed, scoreboard and floodlights have been installed while underground drainage systems of the pitch have also been completed with tartan tracks being laid as well.

The Director-General also inspected other related works ongoing at the stadium.

Prof. Twumasi has been paying regular visits across the 16 regions as part of his technical interactions with sports development officers and facility managers as the NSA works to ensure total sports development and the provision of quality sports facilities across the country.
