I'm Tired of NPP/NDC Political Banter- Kwesi Pratt Fumes

Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has slammed both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over their struggle for political power.

Mahama Jabs Akufo-Addo

In a recent forum attended by former President John Mahama, he lambasted the President of the Republic, Nana Akuo-Addo, asserting voting out the President and his government is the step to saving Ghana from further economic mismanagement.

To him, the Akufo-Addo-led government is plunging the nation into crises.

“When I called for a change in government in 2024 as the first step towards halting this hemorrhage of badly needed resources through corruption and holding offending officials to account, our friends in government took offense but it remains the only viable way to save the public purse in the face of abundant evidence that nothing will be done about the situation,” he stated.

“. . most of the gains we made and bequeathed to this government have been eroded and we have been plunged into further economic crisis,” he further asserted.

NPP Rebuts

The NPP has also rebutted the former President's claims.

NPP former National Communications Director and currently the STC Chief Executive Officer, Nana Akomea jabbed Mr. Mahama saying "in the year 2009, when President Mahama was Vice President, they were given the chance to investigate what the NPP did. What did they do between 2009 and 2016? So, if he has something different to say for Ghanaians to vote for the NDC, he should rather put that across because when you ruled for eight years, you didn't say we shouldn't vote for you again because of that. So, tell Ghanaians something different...but if he has nothing to say, then don't talk at all".

He added; "Since the Fourth Republic, no one has done an industrialization programme like what's happening now. Free SHS, when we said we would do it, President Mahama said we can't but today, he says he introduced it. Have you seen the hypocrisy? Can he show us any social programme that he initiated in the eight years when he was Vice President and President which will come close to free SHS?"

Kwesi Pratt Fires NPP/NDC

Reacting to the back and forth NPP/NDC arguments, Kwesi Pratt noted he is "tired of the two parties and the political talks".

According to him, "Ghanaians are not as much concerned with what party comes to power in the next elections as they are about their living conditions being improved".
