'Do Or Die' Affair: 'Bring Mahama To Order' - Kwamena Duncan Appeals To Clergy & Chiefs

Kwamena Duncan, a former Central Regional Minister, has called on the Christian Council and Regional House of Chiefs to condemn the recent statements by former President John Dramani Mahama.

Former President John Mahama, speaking on Akina Radio at Techiman in the Bono-East Region during his ''Thank You'' tour, emphatically stated the 2024 general elections will be a ''do or die affair''.

According to him, “we learn from the past so we [NDC] have learned our lessons from the 2020 election. The next elections will be won or lost at the polling station”.

“If otherwise, it will be a do or die affair at the polling station. The right thing must be done. We will win our election at the polling station.”

“We will do everything to make sure the election is transparent and fair. We don’t want to cheat them, so they shouldn’t. We won’t wait for any Supreme Court, no!”, he stressed.

Responding to Mr. Mahama's statements, Kwamena Duncan asked the clergy and Chiefs not to go silent on the matter.

"If you remain silent on this matter and don't talk for President Mahama to stop from the path he's trending, this country stands in high risk," he said on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo''.

He urged them to bring Mr. Mahama to order saying, "the former President indeed has thrown this entire country into a certain disarray. He's now told his supporters that 2024 will be a bloodbath [war] and I want to indeed prostrate before all of you that quickly, any effort, any influence you can exert that we prevent this; it must happen!''
