Ghana Health Service Starts Vaccination Exercise Nationwide

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has started a nationwide vaccination exercise which will end on September 29, 2021.

The campaign which started today Friday, September 24, is for Ghanaian citizens who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19.

Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, Director General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) speaking in an interview on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', asked Ghanaians who have received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine to go along with their I.D card as well as the vaccination card they received after their 1st dose.

However, unvaccinated Ghanaians above the age of 17 can go with only a valid Photo ID card when visiting any of the designated centres within their respective regions for them to be vaccinated.

Dr Kuma-Aboagye is hopeful that this exercise will help the country attain herd immunity.

Meanwhile, the United States of America is set to donate some 1.3 million Pfizer vaccines to Ghana.
