Takoradi 'Pregnant' Woman Must Face The Laws Squarely - Buaben Asamoa Insists

Director of Communications, NPP, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, has thrown his weight behind the prosecution of Josephine Panyin Mensah, the suspect at the center of the fake pregnancy story.

Josephine Panyin Mensah, today, stood before the Takoradi Circuit Court after Police investigations revealed her pregnancy story was untrue.

She has been granted a GHC 50,000 bail and five lawyers have pledged to render their services to her pro bono.

Her charges include deceit of public officer, publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic.

As the case keeps developing, there are calls for her to be pardoned but Buaben Asamoa shares dissenting views.

Unlike those pleading on behalf of the woman, Buaben Asamoa held that Panyin Mensah should only be set free if found not guilty but should she be guilty of the charges against her, then she must squarely face the laws.

He noted that the fake pregnancy story has dented Ghana's image on the international stage, therefore her case must dealt with accordingly.

''I believe the law must take its course in order to restore our image that was nearly lost," he insisted on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo''.
