Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill Should Not Affect Innocent Persons – John Boadu

The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, says parliament must critically digest the anti-LGBTQ+ bill before them before making any decision.

John Boadu said the outcome of the bill should not affect innocent persons in the country.

“I heard the bill will cause the arrest of parents of persons practicing this gay act. This must be well addressed. We shouldn’t pass a law to affect innocent citizens,” he said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie'.

According to John Boadu, the NPP fully support the bill before Parliament, which is seeking to extensively criminalize the activities of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersexand others of their like.

But he maintained that, innocent persons should not ‘suffer’ because of the bill.
