15.7 Million Ghanaians Enrolled On Ghana Card - Veep

Over 15 million Ghanaians are currently enrolled on the Ghana card.

This was disclosed by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia during his public lecture at the Ashesi University in the Eastern Region Tuesday evening.

The Vice President highlighted the significance of digitization and the digital progress made by the Akufo-Addo administration during the forum which was under the theme “TRANSFORMING AN ECONOMY THROUGH DIGITALIZATION- THE GHANA STORY”.

He revealed that ''so far, 15.7 million people have been enrolled on the Ghanacard by the NIA and most of the population will be enrolled by 2022''.

The Veep further underscored the benefits of the Ghana card emphasizing ''with the Ghanacard the identity of people (even dead people) can be established using their fingerprints. Ghanaian and other embassies abroad will be able to establish the identity of Ghanaians using their fingerprints. Identity can be established even without the Ghanacard as long as you have been enrolled on the database''.
