Rugby: Northern Region Holds Finals Of Sevens Club Competition
The Northern Region Rugby Association has held its finals of the 7s Rugby Club competition at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale on Saturday.
The participating teams at the finals of the league match are the Tamale Warriors RFC, Northern Lions RFC and Rocks RFC but Northern Lions RFC emerged winners of the competition.
Cumulatively Northern Lions RFC ended the league with 243 points putting them on top (winners) followed by Tamale Warriors RFC with 191 points and Rocks RFC came third with 185 points.
The competition was graced by the Northern Regional Director of The National Sports Authority Madam Salamatu Alhassan , President of NRRA Ms Rafatu Inusah (NSA stuff / Educator / Board member of Ghana Rugby and Mr Ephraim Muhyutihim also a staff of the NSA.
Speaking at the event, the Northern Regional Director of the NSA, Madam Salamatu Alhassan said her outfit is keen to see the expansion, development and growth of all sports in Ghana.
She was highly excited about the initiative and was energized to support the development of Rugby in the North.
The winners(Northern Lions RFC) were presented with a trophy, medals and a cash prize. The second runner up was was also given medals and the third position were presented with a cash prize.
The Get Into Rugby boys also show case their talent before the final match between Northern Lions vs Rock Rfc and was demonstrated by Ms. Rafatu Inusah.
The Officials of the competition where Ms Rafatu Inusah, Ephraim Muhyitum, Hudu Musah and few others.
The President of Northern Region Rugby Association, Ms. Rafatu Inusah commended the National Sports Authority and The Ghana Rugby Football Union for their commitment and support for the game.
