NSA Wants GPL Matches Postponed From Dec.13-26 To Allow Maintenance Works At Accra Sports Stadium

The National Sports Authority has directed the Ghana Football Association to postpone league matches from December 13-26 in order for maintenance works to be carried out.

The closure of the venue will affect four Ghana Premier League teams, Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics, Accra Lions and Legon Cities who use the stadium as their home venue.

This means the FA must either find an alternative venue or postpone some of the games scheduled.

The decision by the NSA will further put a strain on organizers of the league who have already been forced to postpone the Hearts vs Kotoko clash due to the travel schedule of the Phobians who are playing in the CAF Confederation Cup.

According to the NSA, the closure of the stadium is to allow Green Grass Technology to work on the pitch.

The work will be completed within a work to ensure the clubs make a return to the stadium to continue with the league matches.
