The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) says it has delayed its fares increment due to the already hardship in the country.
 
The union’s Head of Communication, Abass Ibrahim Moro told NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that the union will reconsider the earlier 30 per cent increment to favour all.
 
“We have to consider the citizens before any decision is made,” he said.
 
Abass Ibrahim Moro also urged the public to disregard reports suggesting that transport fares will go up by 30 per cent Friday, February 18, 2022.

According to him, the union will decide on its new rate after a negotiation with the government on Monday, February 21, 2022.

“We have not yet concluded negotiations so the public should ignore those reports. Officially, we have planned that we will state to announce the new rate after we meet with the Transport Minister on Monday,” he told host  Kwesi Aboagye.
