Ginni Saraswati Explains How Being Self-Aware Can Make You Empowered

It is said: knowing others is wisdom, but knowing oneself is enlightenment. Being aware of our strengths and weaknesses, our traits and personalities, and what we like and what we detest is key if we are to be empowered. But as straightforward as this sounds, not many people know their true selves or their characters. Ginni Saraswati, the CEO and Founder of Ginni Media, spoke with us on how self-awareness leads to true empowerment.

Ginni Saraswati is a renowned and award-winning podcast and radio host. According to Saraswati, people who understand themselves tend to make the right decisions even in the most challenging circumstances. “Self-aware people make conscious choices as they evaluate their options keenly,” she says. “Such people tend not to be rushed or impulsive.”

Ginni further opines that self-aware people are more likely to achieve success in their various ventures. “Those who are self-aware know their strengths and weaknesses, and they understand what works for them and what does not. This makes it easier for them to major in their strong areas and set attainable targets, which often yields positive results. After all, your strengths are your greatest assets.”

According to Ginni, self-awareness also helps us identify the root causes of the problems we face and subsequently come up with possible solutions. “Introspection offers insight on what we may be doing wrong,” she says. “After this is established, the possible remedies can still be found from within oneself. “

Ginni further believes that self-awareness is beneficial not only to know yourself better but also to assess your surroundings and other people better. “Knowing your strengths, weaknesses, traits, and personality can also help you analyze and understand the character of those around you. You will be able to know what works for them, what angers them, what excites them, and so on,” she explains. “You will also be able to appreciate the fact that people differ and that what works for you does not necessarily work for everyone else.”

Thus, it is evident from Ginni Saraswati’s insights that people should take their time to reflect and search within themselves and to understand themselves better. “Knowing oneself is a significant step towards empowerment,” she concludes.
