Demolition of Houses At Panpanso No 1: Majority Chief Whip Donates Cement And Cash To Affected Residents

The Majority Chief Whip and MP for Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has appealed to the IGP, Dr George Akuffo Dampare to step up Police patrol at Panpanso near Teacher Mante in the Nsawam/Adoagyiri Municipality in the Eastern region after the illegal demolition of about 11 houses in Panpanso Number One by armed masked men at dawn on Monday 18th April 2022, rendering over 40 residents homeless.

The MP made the appeal when he visited the residents at Panpanso Number One. He was accompanied by the NPP Constituency Chairman of Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Mr Francis Rockson Acquah, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Mr Smart Amoafo and his Deputy, Peter Appiah.

Six people are reported to have been arrested by the Police so far in connection with the incident whilst investigation is ongoing.

Speaking to the residents when he visited them at Panpanso Number One, Frank Annoh-Dompreh promised to immediately take the matter up to the IGP to ensure that the law takes its course.

He said government is deeply concerned about the plight of those whose houses were illegally demolished and assured them that justice will be ensured in the matter.

The Majority Chief Whip donated 250 bags of cement, 20 packets of roofing sheets and cash of Ghc 20, 000.00 to the residents in the interim to support them.

The Chief of Obregyima, Nene Obregyima III who received the items cash on behalf of the affected residents, thanked Frank Annoh-Dompreh for his kind gesture and appealed to other individuals and organizations to come to the aid of residents whose houses were demolished.
