Press Freedom Ranking: Let’s Do Things Better For a Good Position – NDC MP Advises

NDC Member of Parliament for Wa West, Peter Lanchene Toobu says Ghana’s position at the current Press Freedom Ranking is a “shame”.

The latest Press Freedom Rankings released by Reporters Without Borders saw Ghana drop 30 places according to the 2022 World Press Freedom Index.

Many believe the ranking was due to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s robust style of leadership on press freedom.

Others accused the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare of playing a role to see Ghana’s poor performance on the 2022 World Press Freedom Index.

But, Peter Lanchene Toobu on NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie' said a collective approach will help change Ghana’s situation.

We should do things better for a good position,” he advised.

Adding, “I am happy very happy this government said they will work on the thing. It’s about Ghana and not individuals or political parties.
