Establish Research Funds To Help Find Long Term Solution For The Country

The President for the Presbyterian University Ghana, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, has called on the Government to establish a research fund and invest more to help solve certain problems and challenges affecting the Country.

He explained that, due to the inability of government to fast track the establishment of the research funds for the universities students, individual researchers have had to rely on their little resources to embark on their research.

This according to the president, is a major problem for the students to embark on a holistic research approaches that will help solve some national issues such as the current flooding problems confronting the Country.

He was speaking at a Graduation ceremony of the 4th graduation ceremony of Graduate Studies, Akropong Akuapem.

He compared that other countries have immensely invested in researches and have been able to come out with concrete solutions to solve major issues and problems confronting their Country.

Speaking at the sideline of the 4th graduation ceremony of the school of Graduate Studies at Akuapem Akropong, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu again charged Government to extend scholarships support to the private universities to help develop the human capital needed by the country .

He however said the private universities also complement greatly to the public universities in terms of training and development of human capital hence the need for GETFUND to assist the private universities with laboratories and teaching theaters as way of cushioning them to also do better.

The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante commended the president for raising the status of the Presbyterian university college to chartered status.

He however said the aim of the church is to institute a christian university in the country because he believes that education should not be neutral but the one which conforms to the principles of God in order to train God fearing individuals for the country. By which the Church gave a support of 300,000 Ghana cedis to the school.

Furthermore , he advised the graduands keep their integrity , be honest in all their endeavours and work hard , this will be a manifestation to the certificates that they
have acquired.

The Presbyterian Church has Donated a cash Amount of Three Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis to the University for developmental Projects.
