Did You 'Fire' Your Finance Minister When You Went To The IMF? - Kojo Oppong Nkrumah Asks Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has charged President Akufo-Addo to urgently replace his Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, because he has lost credibility and confidence after he supervised “the disastrous collapse of the economy.”

According to him, he's not fit to lead the IMF negotiations.

“Meanwhile it will serve the President well to use some instruments from the Presidential tool kit in times of crisis such as this. Fire your finance minister, conduct a major shake-up of Government to remove the many dead woods that have turned ministries into their fiefdoms and finally huddle with the best brains this country must formulate a comprehensive recovery plan for our economy,” the former President added.

Reacting to the former President’s call for the ouster of Ken Ofori-Atta, Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah asked if he sacked his then Finance Minister, Seth Terkper when his administration went to the IMF.
