Group Pens NPP General Secretary

Dear General Secretary, Mr. Justin Koduah Frimpong, we would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt congratulations to you on your election as the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Sir, it is our prayer that the current crop of leadership, led by Mr. Stephen Ayesu Ntim and your good self will be able to lead the party to achieve your unprecedented ambition of 'Breaking The 8' victory come December 2024.

We are a youth group whose objective is to fight for the political, social and economic interests of our brothers and sisters in the five northern regions of the country.

We have been compelled, as political watchers and keen followers of happenings within your political party to bring certain situations to your attention.

A few days ago, your good office issued a statement reminding all members of the party, from polling stations to the national level, as well as all potential aspirants, to refrain from engaging in acts that contravene the supreme Constitution of your party.

Your statement specifically made reference to an invitation extended to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi, whom you cautioned for allegedly making open declaration for one of the potential candidates of the party's flagbearership.

We, as a group, should ordinarily not be worried, nor seek to challenge this decision as we believe it was made based on sound judgement and thorough recourse to your party's rules and regulations.

Unfortunately, we are beginning to get worried and rightly so. Our worry is premised on the fact that your office, it appears, seems to have grossed over a similar act, this time from one potential candidate and a leading member of the party.

We are very sure by now it has come to the attention of your office that Mr. Kwadwo Alan Kyerematen, the Minister for Trade and Industry, is set to organise a Health Walk, with his supporters in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi this coming Saturday, August 13, 2022.

It is obvious your good office is fully aware of this programme which has for several months, received wide publicity and promotion on social media and other news outlets.

We do not need to remind you that such activity, which the Constitution of your party frowns upon, is being spearheaded by Mr. Alan Kyerematen himself.

It is our position that the impending programme, without any shdred of doubt, is an overt means to push the presidential agenda of Mr. Alan Kyerematen.

We are therefore obliged as a concerned group, to bring to your notice and to appeal to you to proactively take the necessary steps to stop such act which is deemed contravenous.

Whilst we do not doubt your conviction and resolve to ensure discipline and sanity in the party moving forward, we also do not want to believe your leadership will be discriminatory in exercising your duties as the Chief Scribe and Head of Administration of the party.

With the same dispatch and alacrity that you dealt with the case of Chairman Wontumi few days ago, we hope you apply the same in handling this one too.

Remember it cannot be a case of different strokes for different folks!!

The group wishes you well in all your endeavours. Thank You Sir.
