Do We 'Chop' Grammar? - Prof. Osafo Slams Mockers of People With English Deficiency

Senior Psychologist, Professor Joseph Osafo, has advised Ghanaians who mock people for their inability to speak fluent English language to desist from such habit.

According to him, it is only in Ghana that a person's intelligence is measured by whether or not he/she can speak English.

Commenting on the state of Ghana's economy during a panel discussion on "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, Prof. Osafo noted that although it is good for one to study and know how to write and speak English language, subjecting one to public ridicule is not the way to go in a suffering economy as Ghana.

"Do we chop Grammar?", he quizzed as he explained how expensive commodities have become and the gradual crippling of the country.

He advised the youth in particular to value vocational and entrepreneurial skills to help themselves as well as ensuring great economic fortunes of Ghana.

"We cannot underrate your child knowing how to speak and write English language but we can't say it's sufficient. Today, our children speak English fluently but they don't want to do anything with their hands," he said.
