Ludjero Lima Secondary School Crowned Project 144 - Africa High School Basketball Showcase 3x3 Champion For Cape Verde

After 3 Days of intense basketball play at the inaugural Africa Sports Ventures Group Project 144 High Schools Basketball Showcase on the Island of Sal in Cape Verde, a National High School 3x3 Champion has been crowned and it is the Ludjero Lima Secondary School who outlasted the Dr. Jose Augusto Pinto School with a score of 9 – 7 to cap off 3 days of competition.

There was excitement in the air from start to finish of the Project 144 Showcase as a bunch of young high school basketball players on the island who were raring to go in a competition that came to them like manna from heaven in the absence of existing competitions within Cape Verde flaunted their skills from Friday August 19th through Sunday August 21st 2022, eagerly immersing themselves in the experience that will surely return in 2023 to once again give them a much needed stage to continue to showcase their abilities.

Standing out from his teammates Cleisson Silva, Yannick Ramos and Erick Soares and the rest of the tournament participants was Kelvin Ramos of the champion Ludjero Lima Secondary School, who was voted MVP of the tournament.
Kelvin even caught the eyes of US Pro Basketball player Joshua Leon Roberts who was watching the tournament through the Africa Sports Ventures Group Stream Link on Facebook saying; “the Kid is NICE for his age, his footwork, handles and Court Awareness is great”.

The Ludjero Lima Secondary School are now qualified to represent Cape Verde at the first edition of the Project 144 Africa High School Continental Basketball Showcase slated for Accra, Ghana in April 2023 where they will be going up against 11 other champion teams from the foundation member nations of the program to contest the title of the best in Africa.

The Africa Basketball Showcase is a platform for showcasing the skillsets of a slew of young boys and girls across Africa developed under the Project 144 guidelines who before this competition scheme did not have a platform to go up against the best from other African countries as well as get seen by the rest of Africa and the world on Local TV and through the ASVG International StreamLink.

The CEO of Africa Sports Ventures Group Leslie Koroma Sr and the rest of the ASVG Executives and Board Members extends their congratulations to Ludjero Lima Secondary School as they look forward to seeing and interacting with them in Accra Ghana in April of 2023 at the continental showcase.

Basketball is the fastest growing sport on the African continent and with Project 144 schools now a staple that game will now develop a solid foundation that will allow it to take root on the continent culturally and sports wise producing the next generation of Hoop Stars.
