Hon. Lydia Alhassan first toured Accra College of Education Demonstration School (ATTRACO) where she is building a 12-unit classroom block to meet the needs for the increasing number of students.

ATTRACO, over the years, has been recognized as one of the best government schools in the country, hence its continuous influx of students across the Region.

The MP and her team then moved to inspect a 6-unit classroom block at Abelemkpe Primary and kindergarten school which is also under construction.

Other projects she inspected include an ongoing school block for kindergarten students at Dzorwulu, a 6 classroom block with library at Staff Village, Community hospital at Menpasem and the first Senior High Secondary School in the constituency, Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) Academy located at Shiashi.

Addressing the media, Hon. Lydia Alhassan iterated that “Ayawaso West Wugon is an intellectual capital where most of the tertiary institutions reside. Meanwhile most of these primary and Junior high schools are not in good shape so I have taken it upon myself to give the schools a face lift aside from the entrepreneurial and other projects happening in my constituency. The schools that need renovation will be done; those that need classrooms too will be provided, for the student to have a conducive environment for teaching and learning.”

“All this is evidence that His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo and government are working to improve the living condition of every Ghanaian. There are similar developments happening in every constituency by my colleagues that I’m appealing to them to come out and say for the good people of Ghana to know.

“We are working to develop the country as promised by the President especially in the area of Education that is why we implemented the Free SHS”, she added.

Hon. Lydia Alhassan further expressed satisfaction with the level of work by the contractors and entreated them to keep to the timeline to ensure early completion of all the projects so as to serve their respective objectives and to improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries.
