Northern Region’s Teiya Wins TV3’s Coverted Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2022 Crown

Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) competition ended last weekend at the national theatre in Accra with Northern Regional representative Teiya Ayisha Dahamani winning the ultimate prize - the crown, cash car and bragging right.

In the finals of the competition organised by Media General’s TV3 station, Teiya captivated the audience and judges with an emotional presentation of her post-pageant project, an initiative to stop regional migration of young girls to cities in search of work as head porters, popularly referred to as Kayayos. A practice which drains the Northern sector of their human resource and puts lives in danger.

Teiya took home Ghc10,000 cash, one year’s supply of GTP fabric, Ghc20,000 worth of medical insurance and spa treatment, a new techno mobile phone, an all-expense paid international trip and hampers from sponsors.

Glory Aiko Adade from the Oti Region was first runner-up. She took home Ghc8,000 cash prize, six months’ supply of GTP fabric, Ghc15,000 worth of medical insurance and spa treatment, an all-expense paid international trip and souvenirs from Airtel-Tigo. , Aiko expressed her passion for domestic animals and said she intends to undertake a public awareness project on the eradication of preventable rabies casualties in the country through education and provision of vaccines.  .

Third place went to Central Region’s Grace Afanyi Asiedua Arhin who took home Ghc6,000 cash, three months’ supply of GTP fabric, Airtel-Tigo data and hampers from sponsors.

Asiedua moved the crowd by recounting her primary school experience which inspired her to advocate for accessible and quality education through her ‘Young and Ready’ project.

The 3rd and 4th runners-up were Eastern Region’s Amoani who advocated for STEM education as a solution to Ghana’s problems and  Volta region’s Abigail Xornam Akpakah who is ready to tackle medical emergencies in deprived areas such as Torvie, Tublukope and Ziume through a mobile hospital, respectively.

As a characteristic of a GMB finale, BHIM Nation President, Stonebwoy and popular crooner Kwabena Kwabena, got the crowd on their feet and dancing into the night.

2021 TV3 Mentor X winner, DSL headlined the show which was co-hosted by TV3 ace presenters Cookie Tee and Anita Akua Akuffo.

For 12 weeks, competition judges Janet Sunkwa-Mills and Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo guided the contestants through the hurdles of the competition. Veteran GMB Judge,  who has been associated with the highly anticipated and widely patronized competition for fifteen years, Linda Ampah, made an appearance for the second time this season  to lend her support in the GMB finale as the ultimate decision went in favour of Northern region’s Teiya.
