God Should Give Prez Akufo-Addo 'Solomon's Wisdom' To Rule Ghana - Kabila Prays

Managing Editor of the National Forum newspaper, James Kwabena Bomfeh, has pleaded with Ghanaians to offer prayers for the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to him, in the face of the adversity coupled with the members of the Majority Caucus in Parliament calling on the President to dismiss the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta and the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Charles Adu Boahen, it is incumbent on every person to take full responsibility by supporting the President to manage the country.

MPs Threaten Boycott

Over 80 NPP MPs have threatened to boycott Parliament should the President fail to heed their request.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, the MPs stated, “if our request is not responded to positively, we will not be present for the budget hearing, neither will we participate in the debate”.

New Patriotic Party(NPP) Member of Parliament for Subin constituency, Eugene Boakye Antwi, in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, reiterated that, "if he says he won't let Ken Ofori-Atta go we are going to boycott all government business in Parliament".

"We have demonstrated to this country that there are genuine, honest, patriotic Ghanaians who have the country at heart . . . if he says he won't remove Ken he should add Parliament to the Execuitve and rule Ghana with Ken Ofori-Atta," he furiously added.

Hon Boakye Antwi believed the Finance Minister "seems to be experimenting with this country and we've had enough".

To Err Is Human

But to James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called 'Kabila', the President is merely human and not immune to making errors, hence advised the populace to soften their stance on him.

He noted that the President cannot be entirely blamed for Ghana's economic crises, asking "is there not a cause?"

He argued that, "everything that is going on today is the result of things that have built up over the years".

Using the biblical account of the life of King Solomon, Kabila urged the citizenry to pray for God to give the President 'wisdom' to rule.

"In these times, we need to pray for the President for God to help him to take the right steps . . . I pray for the wisdom that God blessed Solomon with for President Akufo-Addo. He is human; he's done a lot of things as President. They have not all gone the way we wanted but we shouldn't be speaking like the President has done nothing since he came into power," he said.
