The Unusual Collaboration Between Afro-beats Twins Lali X Lola And Happy FM’s Nyansa Boakwa

Ghanaian Twin sisters Lali X Lola, featured Happy FM’s Nyansa Boakwa on their latest EP dubbed, “From Words To Magic”.

Born in Cape Coast to a mother of Ashanti royal heritage and an Ewe father from the Volta Region. Patricia Delali Dake (Lali) and her twin sister Trysha Wolali Dake (Lola) are Afrobeat/Afro-soul/Afro-fusion (Alté) female artists and dancers.
The duo currently work from both Ghana and the UK. They consider themselves as “Entertainment Scholars” because of their passion and drive to excel academically while fully exploiting their God-given talents. They are managed by their father who they call their "dadanger" (daddy/manager). Their kid brother "Rappidd" is their default producer and their mother their stylist. Yep it's a family thing! No wahala!!

They attended Junior High at Queensland International School, Senior high at Akosombo International School and University at Lancaster University Ghana. They both graduated top of their class with First Class Honors in Economics and International Relations. Lola is just completed her master’s in Economics at Lancaster University Management School UK while Lali is scheduled to pursue her Master’s too.

“I’m Blessed” the 6th song on the EP is a song showing gratitude for life with echoing Twi appellations to God. It is a unique and unusual fusion of Afro-beats and Talking drums yes “Traditional Talking drums “.

“While writing the song, we needed someone to fill it with deep Akan appellations to God. We were just looking at our lives and just wanted to take the struggles and everything we’ve been through and put in a song”, Lali explained. “We just could not find the right Akan words and attitude” Lola added.

“We put a notice out and had a couple of people calling but none of them met our expectations. We were finally pointed in the direction of Nyansa Boakwa and after reaching him and talking to him, we knew immediately he was the one”, they added.

Nyansa Boakwa talking about how he came about the words for the song mentioned that after hearing the song and what it meant, he just decided to give God the praise through appellations in words and expressions he knew best.
“There are times you want to talk to God but don’t have the right words to do so. So I just used some attributes to describe him and that was all” he asserted.

Although they just recently came in contact with him, Lali X Lola say Nyansa Boakwa has been a blessing to them and is now family.
