Cease-fire! Your Exchanges "Brings Our Great Party No Benefit" - Mahama Tells Sammy Gyamfi & Pablo

The immense tension brewing from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth wing after their recent Women’s and Youth elections has been a worry to their former flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Mr Mahama has, however, called for peace between his party’s Youth Organizer, Mr George Opare Addo aka ‘Pablo’ and National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.

He wants the duo to cease-fire with their explosive interviews and commentaries in the media after an emergency separate meetings with them.

“I've had meetings with our Youth Organizer and Communications Officer and agreed with them that the current exchanges must stop,” Mr Mahama posted on Facebook.

According to him, their rift will rather sway the party’s focus on winning the next election.

“It brings our great party no benefit and only serves as a distraction from the hardship caused by the reckless management of our economy,” he maintained.

He urged them and all-party members to be focused on victory.

“Let's keep our eyes on the prize for the ‘Ghana we want’,” he advised.

Background

The National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo responded to the attacks mounted on him, by the Party’s Communication officer, Sammy Gyamfi over his re-election as the party's Youth leader.

Sammy Gyamfi as gathered declared war on the Party Youth Organiser on the claims that he is anti–John Mahama and openly campaigned for his friend Yaw Brogya Genfi to be elected National Youth Organizer but lost by 25 votes at the just-ended Women’s and Youth elections of the party.

After the just-ended conference held at Cape Coast, Sammy Gyamfi allegedly launched attacks on the re-elected National Youth Organiser in a series of posts.

However, George Opare Addo popularly called Pablo who won his re-election bid with a slim margin against Yaw Brogya Genfi, said Sammy Gyamfi has become an obstacle he has to deal with.

In a live radio interview on Power FM, George Opare Addo dared Sammy Gyamfi on air to explain how he owned a plush property Airport Hills.

Pablo said that, “As for this election, it was that Airport Hills small boy I contested not Brogya, I said today I would mention names… I contested Sammy Gyamfi and I won. He is a small boy. There is nothing he can match me on, I have lived life well. He is a small boy’’.

“Yes, Sammy Gyamfi has now become an obstacle and in my way and this is my second term I will not joke! I will cut away anybody who stands in my way as an obstacle. It is the only action that we will see. Action action action….” Opare Addo said.

He dared Sammy Gyamfi to explain how he built a house at Airport Hills and what work he does.

Sammy Gyamfi's Response

In his first response on the matter, Sammy Gyamfi promised to reply Pablo in due course stating that he was not wrong to support a different candidate against Pablo in a recent National Youth Organizer contest.

On late Tuesday, December 13, he went Biblical in his response. He posted a tweet that read:

"Proverbs 26:4-5 on my mind; Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes."
