The Chief Executive Officer of the Intercity State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea has admonished the leadership of the Ghana Army to resist their officers from carrying out aggressive actions on civilians.

Responding to the military brutalities at Ashaiman over the death of a soldier named Imoro Sherrif, Nana Akomea condemned the move by the soldiers to torment an entire community in search of suspects.

To him, such behavior doesn't befit the Military stressing, "this is not good. It's time they stopped and find better ways of dealing with situations. It is sad that the person who lost his life is a soldier but mob action should not be the response of a fine institution like the Ghana Army". 

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show Tuesday morning, Nana Akomea decried the military operation which, according to a statement from the Military High Command, was sanctioned by the leadership.

"Today, it is Ashaiman; it could be you, Kwami or me, tomorrow...This is a mob action and this action should not be coming from the Ghana Military...I don't see any justification for how the soldiers treated the Ashaiman people."

He cautioned the Military saying "we respect the Army. It's a fine institution and we are proud of it but this behavior will reduce that respect".
