Ghanaian Nationals In Philippines To Renew Their Passports In The Country...They Praise Amb. Florence Buerki Akonor For The Initiative

Ghanaian nationals in Philippines have highly praised Ghana's Ambassador to Philippines, H.E Mrs. Florence Buerki Akonor over her conduct as High Commissioner.

The Ghanaian nationals hold her in high esteem for some pragmatic measures that the Ambassador is making to address the concerns of the people.

In the history of the Ghanaians in Philippines, there has been nothing like renewal of passports for those whose passports expire in the country, hence any person with an expired passport is either to return to Ghana to renew it or stay in the Philippines in perpetual fear of the unknown.

But for the first time ever, Ghanaians in Philippines whose passports expire can now renew them in the country.

This is an initiative by H.E Mrs. Florence Buerki Akonor.

According to a national who spoke to Peacefmonline, "for more than 40 years, no High Commissioner in charge of Philippines has ever come here to renew passports for Ghanaians. So many Ghanaians have expired passports and I am victim. It's been five (5) years now since my passport expired and I haven't been able to renew it".

"Thank God for this woman who has assured us that, from April 15th, we can renew our passports here. She didn't just speak to us but also proved to us her readiness to execute this initiative by showing us the machines that are going to use to do it",
 he added.

The Ghanaians in Philippines want to extend their profound gratitude to H.E Mrs. Florence Buerki Akonor and bring the attention of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to her good works.
