Accept Proposed Road Tolls . . . Support Gov't - Ayeh-Paye To Ghanaians

Former Chairman of the Roads and Transport Committee of Parliament, Samuel Ayeh-Paye has thrown his weight behind the proposed road & bridge tolls by the Ministry of Finance.

A report under the caption "Reintroduction of Road Tolls - Amendment of the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provision) Act, 2022, (ACT 1080)" is circulating on social media revealing some proposed rates for the new tolls that the Ministry is prepping to implement.

Samuel Ayeh-Paye, who was also a former Ayensuano MP, was optimistic the reintroduction of the tolls will help the nation in revenue generation, however, assured the public the new tolls will be automated.

Samuel Ayeh-Paye appealed to Ghanaians to support the Finance Ministry's proposal.

"I have sighted a document proposing 88% but when it comes, we should all support and accept it," he said on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show.

He condemned the behaviour where confidential reports are leaked, hence bemoaning the way the document outlining the proposed road and bridge tolls got into the public domain.

"This thing where confidential documents are leaked must be checked or else one day a more serious document that shouldn't be in the public will be leaked and cause security issues. Let us be very careful and cautious."
