Resign From Parliamentary Service Board Immediately! - Kabila Tells Asiedu Nketia

Former Acting CPP General Secretary, James Kwabena Bomfeh alias Kabilla has asked the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, to with immediate effect resign as a member of the Parliamentary Service Board.

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah was named on Monday, March 29, 2021 by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, as part of four persons to constitute the Parliamentary Service Board.

The Parliamentary Service Board is chaired by the Speaker and governs the activities of the Legislature.

The Board has the responsibility of promoting the welfare of Members of Parliament and staff of the Service.

Speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", James Kwabena Bomfeh stated categorically that the NDC National Chairman "can't continue to be a member of the Parliamentary Service Board", giving reason that it is inappropriate for party officers to hold State positions.

"Party Chairmen, General Secretaries, party officers who are appointed to State-owned boards should also stop because the same principle applies there," he said.

"You should resign," Kabila reiterated as he condemned Mr. Asiedu Nketia's decision to remain on the Board.
