Become 'Problem Solvers' In Society, Not Complainers - Presbyterian University Chancellor Charges Graduates.

The Chancellor of Presbyterian University, Ghana PUG and also the Moderator of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante has called on graduates to become problem solvers to society and Ghana as whole but not complainers.

In a welcome address delivered during the Fourth Graduation Ceremony of the School of Graduate Studies at Presbyterian Church of Ghana Grace Congregation Akropong-Akuapem, the Chancellor admonished the graduates not to use their certificates as an amplified pass books to join the company of complainers and fault finders but instead help find solutions to problems in society.

According to the Chancellor, "graduates who end up joining people who are complainers to society is an indication that such persons have failed to fulfil the purpose of attaining tertiary education to help solve problem in the society but have rather wasted all their time and money".

The President of Presbyterian University, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu also said "it has become very important as parents , teachers and elders in our communities to help train the children to be discipline at their tender ages so that the Universities give them the needed support because it is practically difficult to change an indiscipline Individual when he or she become an adult".

He urged corporate organizations and philanthropists to invest in the University's infrastructure to accommodate adequate students so as to train more students to become development-oriented leaders in Ghana.

A total of 313 students successfully graduated from the school, out of which 185 were males and 128 were females who offered courses like Master of Education in Educational Studies, Master of Arts in International Development Studies, Master of Science in Environmental Health and Sanitation, Master of Science and Natural Resources Management and Master of Public Health.

The Presbyterian University, Ghana, attained presidential status on 3rd March, 2022.

The Charter certificate was handed over to the University by the President of the Republic in a short ceremony at the Jubilee House, Accra, on 30th August, 2022 which means that the Presbyterian University is now an officially recognized University registered under the Education Regulatory Bodies Act, 2020, and authorized to grant its own diploma and degree certificates for its programmes approved by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).

Following its presidential charter status, the University has begun developing new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and recently received an indication from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission to grant its accreditation to run a PhD in Development and Management and an MBA in Human Resource Management and Development after inspection of their facilities by next month.
