Dissolve National Cathedral Board of Trustees Immediately- Okudzeto Ablakwa Tells Prez Akufo Addo

Minority Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has asked President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo to immediately dissolve the board of trustees of the National Cathedral.

He is also asking for a Board of Inquiry to be set up to investigate the misappropriation that has taken place since government's decision to construct a National Cathedral.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he further urged government to retrieve monies that has been spent and wrongfully paid to persons who have illegally benefitted from proceeds that are meant for the construction of the National Cathedral.

He said the Board of Trustees should equally out of respect resign to save their name from further disgrace because the construction of the National Cathedral is fraught with numerous scandals.

"I will further in the coming days reveal more scandals I have personally investigated and it is more damning than what I have revealed so far," he added.

Background

The NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has once again taken on the Akufo-Addo government, accusing it of registering the “National Cathedral of Ghana and Bible Museum Foundation, Inc”, as a non-profit organisation in the United States of America.

In his latest revelation, Mr Ablakwa who made a trip to the United States to gather evidence, wondered why none of the prominent ministers of the gospel who serve as trustees of the National Cathedral of Ghana feature in the articles of incorporation and list of trustees as submitted to US authorities.
