Vehicles Were Not Bought And Branded By Veep - Group Reacts To Viral Bawumia-branded Campaign Pick-up Trucks

Bawumia Must Win (BMW), a group in the interest of Vice President Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has responded to a viral circulation of pictures/videos of branded-Bawumia pick-up vehicles with misleading captions and voiceovers on social media by perpetual critics and cynics of Dr. Bawumia within and outside the NPP aimed at causing disaffection for the Vice President of Ghana.

In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Sir Obama Pokuase, while they appreciate the tensed inter and intra political temperature with regards to the upcoming presidential primaries of the NPP and its attendant 2024 general elections, they find it repulsive and unfortunate the decision by reckless apparatchiks of some NPP flagbearer hopefuls and apologists of John Mahama to engage in such libelous exercise.

Bawumia Must Win (BMW) has observed with utmost shock viral circulation of pictures/videos of branded-Bawumia pick-up vehicles with misleading captions and voiceovers on social media by perpetual critics and cynics of Dr. Bawumia within and outside the NPP aimed at causing disaffection for the noble Vice President of Ghana.

While we appreciate the tensed inter and intra political temperature with regards to the upcoming presidential primaries of the NPP and its attendant 2024 general elections, we find it repulsive and unfortunate the decision by reckless apparatchiks of some NPP flagbearer hopefuls and apologists of John Mahama to engage in such libelous exercise.

For the records:

1. The number of branded pick-ups are Six (6), and not One-hundred (100) as alleged and publicised by the NDC Member of Parliament for South Dayi, Hon. Rockson Dafeamekpor and his collaborators.

2. The vehicles (Pick-ups) in question were neither bought, branded and paid for by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia nor his campaign office.

3. The vehicles were not and could not have been bought with proceeds from a yet-to-arrive.

4. IMF Funds as mischievously put out by the NDC and asserted by the "internal saboteurs".

5. The vehicles belong to a group of individuals who believe and share in the vision of Dr. Bawumia.

6. The vehicles are to be used and returned to the owners after the campaign.

This is not and will not be the first or last time private citizens have donated vehicles to support a politician's campaign.
To the extent that there are no laws in Ghana that bar individuals or volunteer groups from contributing logistically and financially to support a politician, the general public is entreated to ignore the propaganda sophistry. It is worth stating that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia remains focused, and will not be distracted by negative commentary by political desperados!
