The Former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Frank Osei Mensah has described the Operations Director of the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings (FONKAR), Ernest Owusu Bempah as a mole who is out to destroy the NDC. Mr Osei Mensah said Owusu Bempah�s continuous castigation of the NDC on radio both in Ghana and abroad as well as his claims that he is a nephew of the late Kwadwo Baah Wiredu (Finance Minister in the NPP administration) all attest to the fact that the NPP intentionally planted him in the NDC to destroy the party. He was speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Tuesday to rebut claims by Owusu Bempah�s that he is a true member of the NDC. Since he came out publicly as a member of FONKAR, Owusu Bempah�s membership with the NDC has been doubted with many questioning his credibility and even his constituency. He has also been chided by some senior members of the NDC and others for his often abusive language, accusations and lack of disrespect for everyone including President Mills. Mr Osei Mensah said the utterances of the Operations Director of FONKAR have not helped in uniting the NDC, and were clear indications that his primary motive was to destroy the party. But in a quick rebuttal, Ernest Owusu Bempah said the former NDC Chairman�s statements are all part of plots to silence FONKAR. He alleged that members of the President Mills' campaign team are exploring all avenues to keep members of FONKAR mute, but he said that will not work. �Such elements in the NDC want to silence me, but this will not fly. I will continue to spearhead the agenda to make the former First Lady the president of Ghana and this threat will not stop me from doing my work,� he stressed. In response to his party membership, he said he is part of the NDC, but could not state if he is a card bearing member. He also refused to disclose his constituency. He claimed that the UK/Ireland Branch of the NDC contributed 40,000 dollars to the 2008 elections but that was discounted by the Chairman of the branch, Horace Nii Ankrah, who also refuted the claim by Owusu Bempah that he is a member. Meanwhile, the National Organiser of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan has warned Owusu Bempah from making derogatory statements against him. Owusu Bempah had earlier claimed that some members of President Mills� campaign team, like Yaw Boateng Gyan, the Communications Director of the NDC in the Central Region, Allotey Jacobs and National Women�s Organiser, Anita De Souza have skeletons in their wardrobes, and warned that if they push him to the wall, he will expose them. Mr Boateng Gyan said the NDC has gone through a lot of struggles to get to where they are and will not allow young men like Owusu Bempah to let them be in vain.
