God Bless First Sky For Fulfilling Housing Project Promise To North Tongu

In the wake of the Akosombo Dam spillage and the havoc which it carried in its belly, I wrote an article in praise of Mr. Eric Sedi Kutortse and his First Sky Group for being one of the first, if not the first, Corporate Entity to speedily reach out to the North Tongu Constituency with much-needed early relief items to stop the hemorrhaging, while looking for a more permanent solution to the crisis.

As is custom with human existence, people sometimes just take advantage of such unfortunate situations for personal gain and to promote self-interest without an iota of real concern for the interests of the persons in need.

That is to say, in such crisis situations, people have the tendency to ride the waves without any real intention of making good their promises – they just move in to benefit from the public relations space and never make good their promises.

In fact, some people tend to be very callous to the extent that they use such Public Relations stunts to mobilise support from unsuspecting donors and never use such support for the intended purposes.

Well, in the case of the First Sky Group and its subsidiary, Construction Ambassadors, specifically on Thursday, October 19, 2023, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okujeto Ablakwa and the First Sky Group cut the sod for construction to begin on the housing project to relocate a sizable number of the over 12,000 persons affected.

With the speed of lightening and true to its commitment, Construction Ambassadors hit the ground running with their own expertise and local labour, and worked tirelessly day and night to make good the promise.

So, when last week, I heard the MP speak publicly on some media networks and full of praise for Mr. Eric Kutortse and the First Sky Group for not only fulfilling the pledge, but doing so in record time, I thanked the Almighty God for using his vessel once again to engage in a crucial philanthropic act that has brought great relief to the beneficiaries.

With specific reference to the Aveyime Housing Project in his constituency, the MP did not hide his excitement and joy for the completion of the project which has allowed the affected persons to even take occupancy before the official commissioning is billed to take place.

Indeed, if Mr. Kutortse was more interested in the media blitz as opposed to helping to alleviate the excruciating pain of the affected persons, he would have been more ensconced in the hype of commissioning before occupancy but as it is, occupancy has taken place before any form of commissioning – if there would be.

It would be recalled that in the immediate wake of the havoc that the spillage was wrecking on the affected communities, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the First Sky Group, Mr. Eric Kutortse, led his Group into the constituency with much-needed consumables and other relief items to quickly ameliorate the situation.

It was while Mr. Kutortse was in the area that he saw at first hand the monumental levels of the devastation vis-à-vis the loss of many houses and homes and the deplorable conditions in which the people were living.

The CEO was also touched by the inability of the children in the affected areas to continue with their education because the surviving school structures had become the only places of shelter for the displaced persons.

In his now renown philanthropic gestures all over the country, the CEO of the First Sky Group pledged to construct new homes for the people within the shortest possible time in order to help them get their lives back to normalcy and to free the school structures for proper teaching and learning to resume.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has come to be part of Corporate Communications for some time now and when Entities go out of their way to support communities that they have not directly benefited from, then it makes it even more commendable.

Most recently, the First Sky Group, led by Mr. Eric Kutortse, has really lifted high the flag of CSR and many Ghanaians, including myself, cannot pretend not to notice the heavy philanthropism that is being exhibited by Mr. Eric Kutortse, and his First Sky Group.

Not too long ago, the First Sky Group decided to assist the Korlebu Teaching Hospital with kidney dialysis machines and since then, the company has paid the bills of thousands of Ghanaians who are suffering from kidney problems.

As regards the Aveyime Housing Project, It is most commendable that an individual and his Group can decide to take on such a huge financial burden when it was not obviously not budgeted for at the beginning of the year.

As I wrote in my earlier Article, I know it for a fact that Mr. Eric Kutortse has the fear of God in him and is an open believer in the Gospel so some of us are not surprised that he has chosen to allow the blessings that God has bestowed upon him, to benefit the less fortunate in society.

Only God knows the number of individuals, communities, and groups that would benefit from his charity work during this Advent Period on the Chrisian calendar – as we herald the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

When the Gospel tells us to love our neighbours as ourselves; this is exactly what the First Sky Group is doing to the glory of God.

Our neighbours are not only those who live next door to us; our neighbours are human beings who have also been created in the image of God, and extending a much-needed helping hand to them in times of deep distress, is nothing but a serious attachment to the admonishing that Christ gives the Church.

I can only continue to thank Mr. Eric Kutorse and his First Sky Group for what they continue to do in the name of God for humanity all over the country.

Mr. Kutortse has decided that as a Ghanaian and a devout Christian, no matter where people are in need in the country, once he can make help available, he will do so without any considerations of earthly reward – his only reward being that his help to people would allow the name of God to be glorified.

May God bless the work of Mr. Eric Kortutse and the First Sky Group and may heaven smile favourably on his work so that he knows deserved prosperity at all times.

As the year 2023 grinds to an end, may it end well for the First Sky Group and may 2024 bring the Company greater prosperity and growth.

“The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters shall be watered himself” (Proverbs 11:25).

“Norvinye Eric, Mawu ne yra wo klpe wo afekor tegbee le Yesu Kristo fe nkor me”. Amen!!!
