Security Services Recruitment: I Dare You To Mention One NPP PC Who Has 30 Slots - Interior Minister To Ato Forson

Henry Quartey, Minister for Interior, has thrown a challenge to the Minority Leader, Cassiel Ato Forson, to name and shame any parliamentary candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party who has been given 30 slots to recruit people into the security services.

The Minister bemoaned the allegations by Ato Forson that each NPP parliamentary candidate has such number of slots to fill the security services with their own personnel.

Ato Forson, in a recent post on X, says he will file a motion for an inquiry into the recruitment practices of the security services since 2017 when Parliament resumes from recess.

“Mr. Minister, I can assure you that we will bring a motion to Parliament to demand an enquiry into the recruitment into security services since 2017.”

“The integrity of our security services and the trust of the Ghanaian people in our institutions depend on our collective commitment to transparency and justice.”

But Henry Quartey says Ato Forson's accusations are all falsehood.

According to him, there are no 30 slots to NPP parliamentary aspirants neither has he nor the security services recruited NPP thugs.

"Everything that he said, I throw it back to him. He's been making allegations upon allegations in the last 72 hours and I have been on several radio stations to say Ato, mention one parliamentary candidate in this country who has been given 30 slots. He has not been able to do it", he warned Ato Forson in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show.

Hon. Quartey further warned that issues bordering on security shouldn't become a public topic.

"I think that we have to end this. We shouldn't bring security matters to the public," he asserted.
