We Won't Watch You Misbehave On December 7 - Interior Minister Warns Ghanaians

Interior Minister, Henry Quartey has strongly warned all persons not to misbehave during the December 7 polls.

The Minister, in an interview on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show with Kwami Sefa Kayi, issued a stern warning to whoever wants to perpetrate violence or a criminal activity in the elections to, with immediate effect, rethink their plans, stressing the security and intelligence agencies have their orders to swoop down on such persons.

This year's presidential election is described as a crucial election because of its historic impact.

It is the first ever to see Vice President of a governing party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and a former President, John Dramani Mahama, enter into head-to-head contest.

Some people have termed it the "Clash of the Titans" while others call it "Clash of the Northerners" because both candidates hail from the northern sector.

As the nation marches forward to the general elections, the Minister calls for peace and stability as well as transparency before, during and after the elections.

"It is not just the Interior Ministry. The President has given his marching orders. He says ensure free, fair and a transparent elections and even if and God forbid, the good people of this country decide to vote for NDC, we should ensure a peaceful transition and handing over power and go back to do our calculations to find out where did we go wrong. But the security and intelligence agencies will not sit and watch the D-day for someone to misbehave", he cautioned.
