Adebayor To Solve Water Problems In Parts Of Ghana

Real Madrid striker Emmanuel Adebayor will travel to the Upper West Region of Ghana on Wednesday to solve the age-long water problems of two communities there. The ex-Togo international will travel with the Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi to commission two bore-hole projects in the border town of Hamile and Ko which he has personally funded. Women and children in the two towns have to walk five miles each day to a river to fetch water for their daily chores, cooking and bathing. The punishing daily water-search schedule of the women and children of Hamile and Ko prompted the striker to act to solve their problems. We I heard of the story of the people in the towns, I knew I had to act instantly to do something about, Adebayor told Ghanasoccernet.com. I am happy that the Ghana FA boss Mr. Nyantakyi warmly welcomed the decision and has helped in making this happen so we will travel together to commission the project. Most of the people are football fans and if people from football can go there to help solve some of their key problems they will be very happy. I cannot live with my conscience when people have to go through so much to get water which is a basic human need. Apart from commissioning of the project, a grand durbar of the chiefs in the region will be held in honour of Adebayor later on in the day. A football match between former players from the region like Kwame Ayew, Maxwell Konadu, Gargo Mohammed, Mohammed Choo and Kwesi Wa Polo Nyantakyi will take on current players with Adebayor playing for either side.
