Mac Manu Cautions NDC

A former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu has warned that the ongoing conflict in the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) does not auger well for the development of multiparty democracy in the country. Mr. Mac Manu said although there are internal wranglings in every political party, they must be properly handled to prevent a spill over. He however told Citi News that the NPP is watching events in the ruling party with keen interest as it maps out its strategy for the 2012 elections. He said, They (NDC) are in a mess, they are throwing mud at each other. We (NPP) are watching and we are taking copious notes for our own good use in the upcoming general elections in 2012. "At the appropriate time, we would release it. The national Constitution and political party constitution enjoins us to foster internal democracy but it depends on how you handle the internal democracy. "If it spills over, it becomes conflicts or for that matter it polarizes the party and that is what we are seeing in the NDC now. As to how they can resolve it, it is not for Mac Manu to prescribe or become a consultant to the NDC.
