Peacefmonline can confirm that a tragic accident near Taifa junction on the Achimota�Ofankor stretch of the Accra/Kumasi Highway in the early hours of Monday, July 11th, has resulted in the death of seven (7) people with several others sustaining varying degree of injuries. According to eye-witness account, a white 207 "trotro Benz bus from the old Ofankor barrier nearly collided head-on with an oncoming Metro Mass Transit(MMT) bus (Kufuor bus) from Achimota leading to the unfortunate incident. Narrating the incident to Peacefmonline, an eyewitness said the over speeding Benz bus after overtaking another vehicle failed to notice the oncoming Metro Mass Transit (MMT) bus in an attempt to avoid a collision, the driver of the Benz bus swerved to the left but not before ramming into the MMT bus and later crashing against the concrete slab which separates the two sides of the highway. Seven (7) were said to have died on the spot including three (3) women.
