Fire on Tuesday gutted the Nurses quarters of the Ridge Hospital in Accra. According to reports, the fire started around 9 am when the Nurses were away at work. No injuries or fatalities have so far been recorded but property amounting to thousands of Ghana cedis have been destroyed. Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service who arrived at the scene managed to put out the fire after having difficulty earlier on get access to Nurses quarters building. The actual cause of the fire is not immediately known but according to an eyewitness, the fire might have been caused by some faulty electric lines. Investigations are still on-going to ascertain the actual cause of the fire.
